Snaggles Adventure to Tunisia (Jan 2014)
So, on another cold, damp evening I was off on some more travels. This time to Tunisia in North Africa for a bit of sunshine and rest.
We drove to Gatwick Airport car park and waited for the bus to take us to the North Terminal. Unlike London Transport, the bus arrived on time and completely empty. We were soon on our way to Gatwick Airport.
The flight itself was delayed so we had to wait a little longer then expected, but we were soon boarding the 737-800 to Enfidha Airport, in Tunisia. This was a journey of over 1,400 miles and would take around 2 and a half hours but we were very comfortable in row 4 (near the front).
We arrived at Enfidha rested and were shown onto a coach which would take us to our Hotel. We were staying at the Riu Imperial Marhaba Hotel which was a lovely 5 star hotel. Although it was evening in Tunisia, the weather was really warm but I couldn’t understand why the locals were all wearing big coats. Then I realised that this was their winter and to them, this was cold. How they would hate the weather back home!
It was an all-inclusive hotel which meant we could eat and drink whatever we liked, when we liked and we didn’t have to pay for it. I loved this!
Although we could have gone on trips to the surrounding areas, we had decided that this would be a restful holiday and would enjoy the surroundings of the hotel.
I had a go in the paddling pool, but it felt a bit strange! Not as wet as it usually was. Never mind, I had it all to myself.
I then had a wander to see what else was going on. Nice in the shade.
A playground! Lovely.
And look at that lovely camel…
And the sand was lovely to play in.
And what a fantastic holiday we had! Thank you Julie (9th Carshalton) and Gary
