Nights Away at Frylands Wood
I had been sent on a mission by The Jedi Council.
My Instructions were:- Make your way to the latest training academy located near Croydon. Warn them Stormtroopers are in the area and they should Be Prepared.
It would appear that like good Cubs Scouts the member of 14th Wallington had already starting their preparations by making Lightsabers
They then began undertaking lessons on Attach and Defence Moves. To prove what they had learned I was given a demonstration. After a fine sandwich, crisp and fruit feast they decided to go out and check the surrounding area.
I had some teaching from Yoda who also allowed me to inspect a Lightsaber
I was the first one to notice that we had missed them they were among us. They had a Tie Fighter Pilot with them. The Cubs were stunned, but I was not frightened and so I introduced myself and explained we were on a Nights Away Adventure.
He encouraged the Cubs to ask questions and then the Stromtrooper spoke to me and was very interesting.
Each of the two teams were then pleased to have their picture taken with the members of the UK Garrison who had made a special effort to come and join in the wonderful weekend experience. see the website for more details.

A team at ease with the knowledge they were being protected
A Team who wanted to help do the protecting.
When they had departed I felt more at home with another stormtrooper who belonged to Akela.
The afternoon would continue with a Star Wars themed puppet show. So first job was to make our puppets. We cut up the small images of Star Wars characters like R2 D2 and Anekin Skywalker and fixed them to sticks so we could hide and only the puppets would be seen
We had to think up a story and then practise so we all knew what we were doing.
As a small cub I was now exhausted so decided I needed to retire to consider my encounter with all these strange characters I had discovered on my trip to 14th Wallington’s Spring Nights Away Adventure.
I thank them and hoped they had a brilliant weekend
BRILLIANT!
